QUESTIONS?
WE’VE GOT YOU.
Everything you need to know before your dog’s first Maple Mutt adventure.
GETTING STARTED
How do I apply for camp?
Start by completing the camper application. From there, Kelsey will review your dog’s information and connect with you about next steps.
Does every dog need a meet and greet?
Yes. Every prospective camper begins with a meet and greet so Kelsey can get to know your dog in person and make sure Maple Mutt is the right fit.
Is Maple Mutt right for every dog?
Not necessarily, and that is okay.
Maple Mutt is designed for dogs who enjoy outdoor exploration, can safely interact with other dogs, and are comfortable participating in a thoughtfully managed group environment.
The application and meet and greet help determine whether camp is a good fit for your dog.
CAMPER REQUIREMENTS
What vaccinations are required?
Dogs must be current on required vaccinations before attending camp, including rabies and DHPP.
Bordetella protection and appropriate parasite prevention may also be required or recommended.
Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered?
This may depend on your dog’s age, behavior, and ability to safely participate in the group environment. Kelsey can discuss your individual dog during the application process.
Does my dog need perfect recall?
Perfect recall is not expected, but dogs should have reliable recall or be actively working toward it in order to safely participate in off leash camp activities.
What behaviors may make camp unsuitable?
Dogs with significant aggression, severe fearfulness, uncontrolled prey drive, chronic escape behavior, significant resource guarding, or other behaviors that could make a group environment unsafe may not be a fit for Maple Mutt.
TRANSPORTATION
Where does Maple Mutt currently provide transportation?
Transportation is currently available to Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski, Essex, Essex Junction, Williston, and Shelburne.
If you are located outside of these areas, you are still welcome to submit an application and discuss available options with Kelsey.
Is transportation included?
Transportation details may vary depending on your location and camp schedule. Kelsey will confirm pickup and drop off details during onboarding.
MEMBERSHIPS + SCHEDULING
Do I have to attend every week?
Maple Mutt memberships are designed around recurring weekly camp days so dogs can build consistency and maintain their place within the pack.
Membership options are available for one, two, or three camp days each week.
Can I add an extra camp day?
Current members may add an additional camp day for $65 when space is available.
Do you offer drop in daycare?
Maple Mutt is designed around recurring memberships and thoughtfully matched groups rather than traditional open drop in daycare.
Do you offer multi dog pricing?
Yes. Multi dog households receive special pricing when dogs from the same household are enrolled in the same membership schedule.
PUPPY ADVENTURES
Can puppies attend Maple Mutt?
Younger dogs who are not yet ready for full camp may be a great fit for Camp Prep: Puppy Adventures.
These private weekday outings are designed to introduce puppies to new sights, sounds, smells, environments, and age appropriate confidence building experiences.
How much are Puppy Adventures?
Puppy Adventures start at $35 per 30 minute visit.
CAMP DAYS
What happens during a typical camp day?
Every day is a little different.
Camp may include outdoor exploration, sniffing, movement, enrichment, social time, and opportunities to rest and reset throughout the day.
Activities are guided by the dogs in the group, the weather, and what makes sense for that particular day.
Is camp all day?
Yes. Maple Mutt is built around full day camp experiences.
What happens in bad weather?
Maple Mutt is an outdoor adventure camp, so weather is part of the experience. Plans may be adjusted when conditions are unsafe or inappropriate for the dogs.
Kelsey will communicate directly with families if weather impacts a scheduled camp day.
Will my dog be playing all day?
No.
Camp is intentionally balanced. Dogs have opportunities for movement and social interaction, but also time to settle, decompress, and rest.
SAFETY + CARE
How are dogs grouped?
Dogs are thoughtfully matched based on personality, play style, comfort level, energy, and individual needs.
How large are the groups?
Maple Mutt intentionally operates with small packs so Kelsey can provide attentive supervision and get to know each camper as an individual.
What information do you need before my dog attends?
Before participating, Maple Mutt collects important health, vaccination, emergency contact, veterinarian, behavior, and routine information for each camper.
STILL HAVE A QUESTION?
Let’s talk.
If you are unsure whether Maple Mutt is right for your dog, the best place to start is with an application.
Tell Kelsey a little about your pup and she can help guide you from there.
